Sailing to the solitary westjords

Heading off in light winds

Crossing the path of another swiss sailing boat (Que Sera)

It's always difficult to get useful pictures of the own boat...

Whales starting to visit

Followed by dolphins

Diving whales right beside us

Sun around 1 a.m.

Needing sunglasses in the middle of the night :-)

The impressive mountais of the westfjords appearing on the horizon

Not getting too close due the strong currents

Spoting a lot of small fishing boats on the same place, so let's head there...

It was really worth it...

15kg of cod in only 20 minutes

Getting closer to the entrance of the fjords

Heading down to Isajordur, a big fishing village

And waiting again for better weather

The famous boat of eide und Erich Wilts, they sunk once on Deception Island and recovered the boat themself

Impressive mountains all around

Using the bad weather to get some work done

And cook all the cod for keeping

Old whale station

Heading out to the fjords for anchoring

And once again meeting the sailing yacht Que Sera

Heading slowly up the fjords, because there are no charts of the water depths

Finding a lovely spot to put down the anchor...

...and going for a hike up the steep moutains

View back to the boat

Always be careful to not step on eggs. They just lay around on the ground

A partridge, looking after the eggs...

... and trying to lead us away

Looking for the best and safest passage up the steep sides

Walking for two hours mostly on snow. Useley the snow should have gone two weeks ago
