Bye bye Faroe and sailing to Iceland

Heading by ferry to Kalsoy Island. There is no suitable harbour for our boat.

It is told, that on every resident on the Faroe Islands, there are two sheeps

Shepherd dogs waiting for the work. They are very fast and well trained to chase down the sheeps from the steep mountain sides

The women of the Kiosk on the "end of the world" speaking with our driver, visithing from Norway, who took us around the whole island.

Two days later, an old captain of a fishtrawler, who visited us every day in the harbour of Klaksvik, offered us his car to see the other islands :-)

New tunnel (11km and 187 below the sea) leading under the sea and connecting three islands. There is even a roundabout in the middle

We had no day without fog or clouds

Calm day, but we had to be careful about the strong currents, pushing us out the fjords. Many small local fishing boats where also out for fishing

Bye bye Faroe Islands

Finally heading to Iceland. In the beginning through against steep waves due to the strong current

Followed by hundreds of sea gulls

After only a half day thick fog came up and stayed until we got close to Iceland

During my sleep I heard funny whistling sounds through the hull

Almost 30 pilot whales and three dolpfhins where following us for an hour

Fortunately they don't "eat" ship rudders like some orcas in Portugal

With every second wave they come out of the water to breathe

And playing with the streams around our boat

Still thick fog and therefore little light, although the sun never leaves the sky

Sun between midnight and one in the morning. The fog is lifting just 10 miles before Iceland

All the time fog or clouds around the mountains and we are hoping for a big high pressure weather system with sun and warmth
